Quality

PCL is one of the few companies in New Zealand using a Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to monitor dimensional accuracy to tolerances of + or – 0.002mm.

The Brown and Sharp CMM allows PCL to certify machining tolerances on all items produced. This gives an audited tracking system to customers and consequently to the ultimate purchaser of an item containing a component (or components) manufactured by PCL.

While not yet standard procedure in New Zealand this degree of Audited Accuracy is often demanded by international customers.

Processes are monitored through a dedicated team of quality assurance staff who ensure the quality assurance system is fully documented.

The quality assurance manual sets out the structure, responsibilities and processes required to implement the Quality Management System. The procedure manual contains detailed instructions on quality issues for all aspects of manufacturing and process control.
